Arven Smith Obituary, Death – The untimely passing of our friend and co-worker, Arven Smith, has left us in a state of profound mourning. Arven worked for CHS for a very long time and was known for his incredible loyalty to the company. After graduating from high school in 1975, he immediately found work in the elevator sector. After spending the previous 48 years working in the field, he made the move to CHS in May of 2011. He worked for us as a bespoke applicator and truck driver, and he found that interacting with all of the producers to be an extremely rewarding experience.
Due to the length of time he had spent in the region, he was familiar with everyone of the residents and wished the best for all. He was the first person to provide assistance whenever it was needed, and he took great pride in the fact that he was able to assist others. He considered it a privilege to be able to work at CHS with members of his family, including Chris, Mark, and Lisa. They are very proud of the work that Arven performed, what they were all able to do together, and the family that they built there.
That sentiment is shared by the staff in Elkton, and everyone there feels the same way. Everyone who had the opportunity to meet Arven or work with him can count themselves extremely fortunate to have been able to call him a friend and a colleague. Arven was such a wonderful and amazing person, and he will be sorely missed by everyone who had the privilege of calling him a friend.
