Bobby Wells Obituary, A Lifelong Murfreesboro High School Coach Has Died – Death Cause

Bobby Wells Obituary, Death – At Riverdale High School, he worked as a teacher of health. Bobby Wells, who coached high school football for many years in the Murfreesboro area, was known for having a “gift” for dealing with athletes. “His gift was what he was able to do with kids,” said Philip Shadowens, the defensive coordinator for Knox Catholic, who coached alongside Wells for more than 15 years at Smyrna High. Shadowiness and Wells worked together at Smyrna High. Bobby Wells has sadly passed away. Those who knew Wells and remembered him shared their recollections of him with The Daily News Journal.

On Friday, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Wells, age 62, passed away. After that, in 2009, he became an assistant coach with the Riverdale Warriors, a team he remained with through the 2022 campaign in some capacity. Between the years 2009 and 2015, he served as the defensive coordinator for the Warriors under the direction of Ron Aydelott. After Will Kriesky took over as head coach of the Warriors in 2016, he was promoted to the position of linebackers coach.

Tamera Blair, the principal of Riverdale Elementary School, remarked that it was a privilege to work alongside him. In addition to being an outstanding educator and coach, he was a good friend to each and every one of us. He had a great rapport with all of the young people. He was an excellent coach and understood how to communicate effectively with our pupils. In every sense of the word, he was a guide, and I’ve always had the impression that our more junior coaches had a lot to gain from him. Both he and Amy, his wife, are very important to me. He will be missed very, very much.
