Cristy Small Obituary, Death – Gambier resident Cristia Jeane Small, age 66, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, at home, surrounded by her devoted family. Cristia had an unwavering commitment to both her family and her friends. She was there to lend her support to her children and grandchildren in anything they did. Cristia’s family and friends will miss her tremendously after her passing. She was the daughter of Fred Cornet, who passed away, and Lou (Gorsuch) Cornet, who also passed away, and she was born in Mount Vernon on April 5, 1957
Cristia participated in the activities of the Moose Lodge in Colonial City. Pickleball, going shopping with her family and friends, and hanging out at her house in The Villages, Florida were some of her favorite ways to pass the time. She is survived by her two children, Tiffany (Tom) Burke of Mount Vernon and Michael (Mindy) Small of Saint Cloud, Florida; grandchildren, Bradyn Burke, Alex Small, Gavin (Amanda) Burke, Amber Small; a sister, Cathy (Joe) Conkling of Mount Vernon; four step-children, Skyler Abbott, Zachary Lumley; mother–in-law and father-in-law, William and Carole Small; many nieces and nephews, and her special canine companions, Lola and Louie.
Michael W. Small, Cristia’s spouse of over 49 years and the love of her life, passed away before her. He was the person who Cristia loved the most in the world. On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, visitation will be conducted from three to six o’clock in the evening at the Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, located at 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road. Where a memorial service will take place at six o’clock in the evening.
Because of all the care that Hospice of North Central Ohio provided for Cristia, the family would like to extend their gratitude in a special way to that organization.
