Diana Shupperd Obituary, Death – Diana C. Shupperd, who had lived her whole life in Elwood, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her devoted family at the time of her passing. On July 23, 1944, Diana Leisure was born in Elwood to her late parents, Bert and Dorothy (Corbett) Leisure. Her parents have since passed away. She tied the knot with the man who would become the love of her life, Billy Shupperd, on August 10, 1969, and the two of them remained married for a total of 36 years. Diana received her high school education at Windell L. Wilkie.
Because she had a soft spot in her heart for young ones, she pursued a career in child care. Diana had the privilege of caring for and helping shape the lives of numerous youngsters within the community for more than 30 years; many of these children remained close to her and called her Aunt Di throughout their lives. Diana enjoyed spending time outside, particularly when it involved activities such as fishing, camping, gardening, and watching birds. She was an avid follower of the Indianapolis Colts and loved to watch Nascar races in her free time.
Her ideal vacation consisted of heading to a beach in the southern hemisphere, where she could kick back, relax, and soak up some rays. She would never forego the opportunity to hang out with her girlfriends or spend time with her family. Diana was well known for staying up into the wee hours of the morning playing the card game that we played as a family; she was most definitely the supervisor of the team “misbehavin!” Those who knew Diana well are aware that her family provided her with the greatest source of happiness throughout her life.
