Ethyn Crawford Obituary, Death – Dear Storm Students, Staff, and Families, I am writing this with a heavy heart to inform you of a terrible event that has had a significant effect on both our schools and our community. Ethyn Crawford, who was in the eighth grade at Bureau Valley Middle School, was killed in a terrible tragedy last night. During these trying times, the top goal for our school system is to provide support and guidance to our children as they work through the stages of loss and recovery.
As a part of this, we have made arrangements for our crisis counseling team to be present at our school today, July 13th, from noon to 4:00 PM; kids can meet a counselor in person or fill out the form below to schedule a follow-up with a counselor. We hope that this will be helpful to you. Everyone who is a part of our school family and the community of Bureau Valley will be affected by this terrible loss. We are aware that some pupils may have a hard time adjusting to this tragic loss.
We actively encourage parents to have honest conversations about their children’s emotions with their offspring, and we encourage students to seek assistance whenever it is needed. As a group, we are all in mourning, and I am certain that you will join me in expressing our deepest sympathies to the family. You can get in touch with one of the counselors or with us if you have any questions or concerns by calling the number 815-445-3101 or by filling out the form that is linked here. Sincerely, and with sincere condolences, Jason R. Stabler Superintendent
