Gary Sanders Obituary, Death – Gary Lee Sanders, a beloved resident of Cerulean, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, at the age of 72. He breathed his last at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Gary was born on October 31, 1950, in Wallonia, Kentucky, to his parents, the late Louis Edward “Toodlum” Sanders and the late Dorothy Keller Sanders.
He had a deep passion for horseback riding, hunting, and attending rodeos and tractor pulls. However, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his friends and family, particularly his beloved grandchildren. The loss of Gary is felt deeply by his family and friends, who cherished him for the wonderful person he was. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Sanders.
He served his country with pride as a United States Army veteran during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to his hometown and dedicated 30 years of his life as a welder for Johnson Controls before retiring. Gary was a proud graduate of Trigg County High School, Class of 1968, and a faithful member of Cerulean Baptist Church.
