Jaheim Law Obituary, Death – The Champaign Police Department stated that they responded to a shooting on Thursday that resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man and injured another man. The victim of the shooting was a man. On Thursday night around 7:39 o’clock, police officers responded to a gunshot that had taken place in the 1700 block of South State Street. The incident had taken place earlier in the evening. Officers found a man victim in his 20s with a gunshot wound that was potentially life-threatening and a female victim in her 21s with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening. Both victims had been shot.
The condition of the female victim has not improved since we last reported on her. Law was shot in the head, and the female victim was shot in the leg, according to the findings of the inquiry, which revealed that two large groups had gathered and were engaged in a physical conflict in a parking lot located in the 1700 block of South State Street when a subject opened fire, striking Law in the skull and shooting her in the leg. When the police arrived, all of the persons had already left the location, but they were able to detain several of them for further questioning. The investigation has not yet resulted in any arrests being made, and it is still ongoing. On Friday, an autopsy will be conducted on Law, who passed away recently.
While both victims were being transported to the hospital, initial care was reportedly given to them by emergency medical personnel. This information was passed on to us. The male victim, who has been identified as Jaheim M. Law, 20, from Champaign, was pronounced dead in the Emergency Department of the Carle Foundation Hospital at 9:59 p.m. on Thursday. He was a resident of Champaign. Law suffered a gunshot wound to the head, which proved to be the cause of his death.
