Jahiem Law Obituary, Death – A guy who was killed in a shooting in Champaign has had his identify made public by the coroner who investigated the incident. The victim of a gunshot that occurred on July 13 at 7:39 p.m. in south Champaign was named as Jahiem M. Law, 20, by the Champaign County Coroner, Duane Northrup. A report of a shooting that resulted in injuries drew the attention of the Champaign Police Department to the 1700 block of South State Street. Officers discovered Law suffering from a gunshot wound that had the potential to be life-threatening. They also discovered a 21-year-old female victim from Champaign suffering from a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.

Both patients were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The woman’s condition has not changed at this time. At 9:59 p.m., it was confirmed that Law had passed away. According to the findings of the autopsy, he passed away as a result of a gunshot wound to the head that he sustained during the shooting. At the Champaign County Regional Autopsy Facility in Urbana, where it will be held, an autopsy is set to take place on Friday. Both the Champaign Police Department and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office are treating his death as a possible homicide at this time.

The initial investigation conducted by the police revealed that there were two large groups who had gathered together and were involved in a violent conflict in a parking lot located on the 1700 block of South State Street. During the confrontation, someone reportedly brought out a gun and fired shots, striking both Law and the female victim in the leg and head respectively, according to the police. After that, every person fled the location, but the coming police officers were able to detain some of them for questioning.
