Joseph Brannigan Obituary, Death – Lou was a devoted member of the Catholic faith and had attended St. Francis Xavier Parish throughout his whole life. He worked as an insurance agent for Allstate. His son, grandkids, and great-grandsons have all gone or will attend Brother Martin High School (which was formerly known as St. Aloysius High School), therefore his legacy will continue on in their generations.
His grandparents, Gladys Burkart Branigan and Louis J. Branigan Sr., his sister, Gayle Branigan Pietrocarlo, and his great-grandson, Noah Joseph Branigan, all passed away before Lou. Lou was a man of deep faith who was also known for his kindness and sage wisdom, which he frequently shared with his large family. Lou is survived by his devoted wife of almost 65 years, JoAnn Locantro Branigan, also known as Nana; his four children, also known as his “jewels”:
George Branigan (Vicki), Lisa Branigan Graham (Greg), Ann Branigan (Eric Knudsen), and Elizabeth Branigan Evans (Ray). In addition, he is survived by his nine grandchildren, whom he referred to as his “mini jewels,” namely George Branigan Jr. (who is married to Ali), Brian Branigan (who is married to Jeneé), Kelli Dominique (who is married to Meg), Brittany Bodet (who is married to Chris), Sarah Beshears (who is married to Daniel), Mallory Knudsen, Will Spearman, Matthew Spearman, and Austin Evans.
His legacy is also carried on by the ever-increasing number of his great-grandchildren, whom he refers to as his “micro-jewels”: Parker, Riley, Lathan, William, Aiden, Henry, Brooks, Margot, Leela, Briar, and a new baby on the way are just some of them. He also has one more great-grandchild on the way. His sisters, Lois Walsh and Carol Branigan, also continue their lives after his passing. The Branigan family would like to express their gratitude to Angie Doyle and Dana Davis, who worked as Nana and Lou’s carers and offered not only the best love and care for Nana and Lou, but also for the rest of the Branigan family.
