Nikki Ducheneaux Obituary, Death – Nikki Ducheneaux has died. We extend our sincerest condolence. A post was made on a social networking platform that read, “For those of you that don’t know, I changed my cover photo and profile picture in honor of my cousin Nikki who passed away unexpectedly on Friday.” It won’t be easy to find someone else to take her position. My heart goes out to you, cousin, and I promise to make sure everyone knows how much you meant to all of us. Love to her Aunt Ernie, Uncle Franklin, her other siblings, all of her wonderful coworkers, and most of all, her stunning children.
When we were younger, our family attended a reunion of the Ducheneauxs, which is where this picture was taken. It was when she shared it with me that she informed me where it was, but I forgot where it was. Nikki Ducheneaux and her family are in our thoughts and prayers. What a surprise! Best wishes for a wonderful voyage, and many thanks for everything you’ve done to help other people in the course of your job. I want to express my gratitude for everything you’ve done for the Santee Sioux Nation and say how happy I am to have collaborated with you.
Blessings to be had in every direction. We were really close, bonding over the pressure it was to have our fathers be so well recognized in Indian Country. Each of our fathers had a very successful career in Indian Country. I think it’s very neat that in the end, we both ended up following so closely in their footsteps, but at the same time, we were able to find our own ways.
Since she was a member of my community, I often went to her for guidance or to have a casual conversation on the most recent and significant opportunities and difficulties that my people face. My heart, our family, and all of Indian Country have been irreparably broken by your passing.
