Logel, Lisa (Winchell) Logel Carroll, and Steven Logel; dear grandfather of Marcie, Benjamin, Patrick, Abby, Tanner, Chase, and Caroline; dearest great grandfather of Lucy, Calvin, Olivia, and a sweet baby girl due July 1st; devoted cousin, uncle and friend to many. His grandparents, Edward and Clara Logel, as well as his parents, Wilma and Louise, and his brother, Edward, all passed away before Gilbert was born.

Kelso, Missouri, is the location of Gilbert’s birth and childhood. He was a brave and honorable soldier who served his country in the United States Army during World War II, where he reached the rank of Staff Sergeant. After the war, he went on to serve in a position at the Pentagon. He worked in the banking industry for a significant amount of time as a trust officer and executive in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, as well as Southern Illinois. In addition to becoming a Knight of Columbus, he was an exceptional golfer, player of quick pitch softball, square dance caller, individual stock picker of large merit, and other sports.
