Paul Riley Obituary, Death – On the 11th of July, 2023, late in the evening, Paul Dexter Riley was sitting in his recliner at home when he suddenly and unexpectedly died away. He passed away very gently. On July 9, 1955, in Eloy, Arizona, Paul Davis Riley was born to his parents, Geneva Davis and Jess Riley. His parents, as well as his brother Ralph and nephew Ty, passed away before he did. Paul is survived by his wife Chery Riley, son Steven Riley (and his wife Dallas), nephew/adopted son Erin Coker (and his wife Rebecca), step-children Jessica Diaz, Linda Palomo, Rachael Nielsen (and her husband Brian), and Clifford Roberson (and his wife Jessica), sisters Wanda Schulz and DeEtte Coker, and his much-loved hound dog, Molly.
Paul was a master of all trades and could mend just about anything that broke. He was an amazing cook, had a passion for outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and boating, and he pampered his grandchildren to no end. Sunday, July 16th, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the O’Bannon Funeral Home in Luling. On Monday, July 17 at 11 am, there will be a service held at the Prairie Lea Baptist Church, and then there will be a small lunch served after the service.
Paul is also survived by his sisters-in-law. Grandchildren include John Coker, Brian Coker, Kaitlyn Coker, Kendall Nielsen, and Kelsey Nielsen, as well as Payton Riley, Emily Riley, Bailey Riley, and Tucker Riley (who is married to Kayley Riley), and Emily Riley. Great-grandchildren include Houston, Hayden, Grayson, Ava, and Brayden, in addition to the upcoming arrival of another child in this generation.
