Richard Brackett Obituary, Death – On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, Richard A. Brackett, 85 years old, of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, died away peacefully in the comfort of the Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. At the time of his passing, he was attended to by his loved ones on both sides. He was born in Fitchburg on June 1, 1937, and his parents, Howard Brackett and Evelyn (Harper) Brackett, both passed away before he was born. He was their son.
He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1955 after having spent his childhood in the hamlet of Ashburnham, from which he had attended Fitchburg High School. Since he was 17 years old, he had been calling the neighborhood of Fitzwilliam home. Before coming to work at Cushing Academy, Rick had a successful career as a master electrician by running his own business for a period of time. He worked there for a significant number of years up until the point at which he retired from the company.
He was a member of the Fitzwilliam Community Church, if you were wondering. He loved being outside and would spend as much time as he could fishing, boating, and hunting. He was a very enthusiastic outdoorsman. He was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox as well as the Boston Bruins, in particular. He also followed the Boston Celtics. Rick was well-liked for his acerbic sense of humor as well as his unwavering loyalty to his family, God, and country.
At all times, you could find him wearing either a pin or a lapel pin depicting the American flag, which he wore with great pride. He had a broad musical taste and was highly innovative when working with wood or building things. He appreciated a wide range of musical genres.
