I did not squander any time and immediately sent him a text message with the question, “Are you okay?” I got no response. I eventually found out that Rion Massie had passed tragically as the result of a heart attack. I was saddened to hear the news. Rion was a good friend, an ambitious website designer, an entrepreneur, a father, and an installer for us (Outrageous Audio) for a period of time, among many other things. He also owned his own business and was a father.
His life was taken away from him yesterday, when he was only 46 years old, which was much too young. This has a profound effect on me. Over the course of several years, anytime our website encountered any kind of technical issue, I would quickly and frantically give Rion a call…No matter what time of day it was, he was always one step ahead of everything. He showed an incredible amount of love for his children and was quite interested in the activities that they participated in.
Baseball, participating in extracurricular activities at school, and so forth are examples. He was a good buddy, and he was constantly complimentary of you and the things you had achieved. It aches my heart for him and the children that they had to go through this. So sad! There is a “Go fund me” campaign that is now being run, and you can contribute to it. If you were able to provide the family with that information, it would be of great assistance to them.
Since today is my birthday, I would be grateful if you could take some time out of your day to consider the smile on the left… Rion…I’m going to think about you and miss you a lot, buddy.
