Steve Barnett Obituary, Death Cause – I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to lend a hand when you required it. I will be eternally thankful that we were able to meet and that you choose to become a part of our family. I am grateful that you have placed your faith in me to run your family business. You must have placed a high value on it. You put an incredible amount of pride in the work that you did. You were cherished by a large number of people, and for many years to come, you will be remembered not only in Macon County but also beyond its borders.
That was really considerate and caring of you, he would adore it, and probably cry, because his heart was so big and loving. Especially the people who knew and loved him will be saddened by his passing away. Uncle was certainly adored by all of us in the family. Barney Iconic status was long held by Steve Barnett in Decatur. Such a great, kind, sincere dude. Hard worker. Passionate. Loyal. Patriotic.
Steve has a deep love for his family. cherished the St. Louis Cardinals. Especially enjoyed his beer route. Loved his pals. He was taken too soon. He will never be forgotten. Love ya Barney! I promise to work hard in the hopes of earning your approval. Zeke Bartoski ,Packers QB was a major deal our sophomore year in football, Barney threw a touchdown pass, and Mr. Rutz put Zeke Barnett in the Herald and Review back when they really covered all DPS sports.
After that, he went by Zeke for long a while, and I remember it was against Mattoon. He was a lovely man always; I didn’t realize he was sick until after he passed away.
